You are here: HomeOutreach Ministries

2010 HomlessMemorialJesus' followers once asked him, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?" And Jesus responded, "In the same way that you have done it to one of the least of your neighbors, you have done it to me."

The work of reaching out to those in need has always been at the heart of what it means to be a Christian, a follower of Jesus. Outreach at Church of the Incarnation is a growing and evolving ministry that has taken different forms at different times.

Today, our outreach is focused primarily around the needs of children and feeding the hungry and homeless. Each summer we sponsor a summer day camp program, Kidz2Camp, that provides seven weeks of safe, enriching summer fun and learning to about forty children from around the city. We recently began an expansion of that program into our After School Music Enrichment Program, serving children and young people by offering homework support and vocal and instrumental music training.

With our ministry partner, Jersey City Episcopal community Development Corporation (JCECDC), we have sponsored a drop-in center for the frail homeless that also included a needle exchange program. For more than a year we have developed a two-pronged community feeding program called Welcome Table.

One Saturday a month we provide fresh food and vegetables to over 100 individuals and families. On Fourth Mondays we provide a nutritious and free hot meal to anyone in need of a meal, again serving well over a hundred men, women and children each month. We hope to expand these Welcome Table ministries to several times a month.

Volunteers are always needed and if you would like to offer your time and talent or make a financial gift for the Welcome Table ministries, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
