breadbakingLenten Bread Baking Quiet Day

About the Day
Like to bake bread or want to learn how? Want to spend a few hours in quiet reflection or just step away from the craziness for a few moments? No prior experience is necessary for either of these activities. Just come as you are (except you should bring the items mentioned below).

The Lenten bread baking quiet day is a unique time of mediation during which all participants are guided through making a simple loaf of bread. You'll even have lots of dough to take home to finish baking at your leisure. Lunch will be served monastic style--in silence while a reading takes place. The day will end with celebration of the Holy Eucharist/Mass using one of the loaves we bake during the day.

We begin at 9 AM and end at 3 PM. The mediations throughout the day invite you to reflect on the life of CHrist and the life of our world. You will have opportunity for silence throughout the day.

Date and Time
Saturday, March 6, 9 AM to 3 PM.

Except for the few items each participant should bring, all the supplies are provided. To defray the costs a $5 donation is requested.

What you should bring:
A large clean dish towel
A large metal, ceramic or sturdy plastic mixing bowl large enough for you to put both hands in and move dough around
A sturdy wooden or plastic spoon with a long handle
